My passion for photography started with landscape, nature, and wildlife photography. You will find much of that style of photography in this gallery. Many of them are award winning images that are also found in the ”Award Winners” gallery.

I also inherited a love of birds from my mother, an avid birder. (Not being as adept at identification as she was, I have found that pictures help a lot when trying to identify a new bird!) So you will find many pictures of birds on these pages as well.

In 2006, I started a project to document the "disappearing rural architecture of Central Illinois.” In other words, “Old barns!” Many of these barns are no longer with us, falling to the developer’s bulldozer, fire, or simply the ravages of time.
